How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

This was our second visit to the Ibis, it is convenient to stay here when visiting the South Bank. A short walk from Blackfriars station.

Could do with extra pillows (only 2 thin ones for 2 people) and the bed isn't fixed against the wall. it slides if you sit up in bed. The soundproofing between room and hallway could be improved but it wasn't a major issue
Does the job! Lovely staff. Pets are welcome for £10 per night which is great to know!

This time my room had modern iron shelves instead of a wardrobe. I prefer a wardrobe as it is more spacious and neat.
Very friendly and helpful staff. This was my second time staying there. Very clean place and very central.

The non-refurbished rooms are very tired. There were cracks in the bathroom door, stains on the curtains, just very very tired. The refurbished rooms are polar opposite.
The staff were very friendly and super helpful and accommodating. I asked to be moved to a refurbished room and they were quick to help me and made me feel comfortable asking.

We stayed 2 nights, we realised the next morning that the cleaning lady had forgot to put back the shower mat and towel. So we had to share 1 bath towel as there were no hand towels. Too late to ask once you're in the shower! The hot drinks and breakfast are expensive. Given the many overseas clients it would be handy to install USB plugs to recharge phones. The HiFi equipment under the TV was not connected.

my room was rather dark - I didn’t feel I could really work in it. it took me a while to locate the bigger light (strip) but even then it felt ‘dark’

Bathroom pod was a little unusual and didn't have an extractor fan.

Bathroom was not very clean, no change towels for three days, the cleaning staff knocked on the door at 8:00 am. Narrow beds.

The breakfast was ok, we missed more variety of breads and Aufschnitt.
The staff was friendly, and the room was really comfortable. We enjoyed the bed. The location was the highlight, since it was really central and had good bus and subway connections. The neighborhood was also a good surprise, since we discovered a nice theater nearby as well as pubs and cafés.

The first night the floor was gritty and dirty, which is not so good if you don't have slippers. It improved though. There was no extractor fan working in the bathroom; I did report it, but it was not fixed before my departure. If leaving before breakfast in the morning, then you miss out. A small bag containing a pain au chocolat, a piece of fruit, perhaps, could be requested the night before, which could be had with a cup of tea in your room on the morning of departure. I don't suppose too many people would be requesting this, though.
Location was so convenient for the station and going to the theatre. The buffet breakfast was excellent with variety for all tastes. Security also felt good.

We don’t have negative comments, just a small repair we were preparing our bags for the check out and every day at 11a.m. They have the fire alarm and we got scared until we understand that is just a test, my advice for the hotel is warn people about it. The rest was just perfect 😊
The underground station is less than 1 minute walking, very nice staff, a really nice breakfast and very clean. Teas and coffe available as well as the air blow dryer. We really like the place.
