How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Bath actually in bedroom, not in a separate bathroom therefore Constant noise from the extraction vent Unable to open windows Bed wobbled when anyone moved in it Not very comfortable bed To turn on the light in the toilet you had to turn on lights in the room too, waking up your bed partner

Amazing experience! Room was perfect bed was extremely comfy we were asked for our preference on bath/ shower. Complementary drinks and a 24/7 room service. Breakfast was really good definitely worth the money. Would 100% return. Staff were so kind and helpful :)

Nothing great hotel apart from breakfast wasnt the best..bacon was cooked rock hard,beans and egg were fairly cold as soon as you put on the plate and sausages looked undercooked.
It was clean and modern.Nice bar area for a drink.

Not having a door on the bathroom (sink area). We were two friends sharing. I prefer more privacy for washing, getting out of the shower and getting changed. Would stay again though. Changed in the loo. Everything else was lovely.
Spotlessly clean, modern fixtures and fittings, nice friendly staff. Outdoor seating area and light, airy restaurant with good choice for breakfast. Really close to Deansgate station and very convenient for the city's venues. Spacious room. Complimentary soft drinks a nice touch.

No parking Elevator is super slow And the carpet in room 512 had red stains on it. Quite obvious on black carpet Feet are cold in the toilet and sink area and I feel it’s wrong to wear footwear inside the room
Breakfast was nice. They have beverage which is for free in the fridge You have restaurant on ground floor too and behind the hotel there are nice places to eat Convenient to shopping and train stations

We went down for breakfast at 10am and were warned breakfast finished at 10.30am. We were pleased that the hot food was still hot (not always the case at buffet style hotel meals) but for the price we paid we were a little frustrated to see staff already clearing off dishes and not refreshing supplies of fresh fruit etc. Also disappointed that the hairdryer in our room wasn't working.
Lovely staff. Vanessa at Check in was warm and friendly and efficient. Our room was big and had everything we needed. The free drinks in the fridge were a nice touch. Also, love the way Melia always fragrance their lobbies so arrival feels calm and welcoming.

I got upgraded last time, I assumed with Genius level 2 and half expected it again however the room was still lovely

The bed was too firm and we didn't sleep well
The breakfast was exceptional, with a range to cater to all tastes.Special mention for the bacon and sausages. It was really quiet after dark which surprised us as it was so vibrant during the day.Room was clean and large.

25-minute wait for table service drinks, then being charged for service!!
We feel that the Young lady in restaurant Jam (jamila) went above and beyond looking after my husband and I, she ensured we had the vegetarian foods we requested for breakfast. Even remembered us on day two and arranged for us to have fried eggs and hash browns cooked very quickly. Exceptional customer service 👏 👌

The doors from the corridor into your room need a good slam to shut and lock - a few times we nearly left with it unlocked. And despite the soundproofing in the rooms you could hear everyone slamming their doors to make sure they were locked. A few more milks / tea / coffees each day would be a nice to have, although really appreciate the free mini bar with a nice selection of soft drinks.
Lovely hotel in a great location - close to the action or near the canal for a walk. Spacious rooms, all open plan including from the bedroom into the bathroom area (so make sure you know who are sharing your room with well enough!) Very well lit room, and comfortable beds. The Air con actually works which is a major plus as most hotels air cons are terrible! Lovely communal areas. We didn't use the gym or sauna but we went to have a look and it looked good. Reception staff were really attentive and clearly well trained in their jobs.

A view would have been good but the room was light and airy.very good hotel in the right location.
Check in very good, helpful. Room clean functional and comfortable. Location ideal as travelling to co op arena, trams across the road, car parked safely in adjacent car park. Breakfast good
