Bed making not too brilliant. Mattress not on base correctly so corrected and when I pulled out the mattress from the pillow end, there were used tissues stuffed down there. I do this job so it's something I would notice and sort. 4 star hotels need 4 start cleaners and bed makers. Also 3 of us were staying but only 2 cups with the condiments allocated.

The steam room and swimming pool were great.

Breakfast staff were pleasant and helpful, but very slow to replenish items like continental buffet choices, even after 2 requests. That is the only fault in an otherwise excellent overnight stay.

The location, perfect for a theatre visit with lots of local choice for pre theatre meals and after theatre drinks. We were upgraded to a premier double which was really comfortable. Clean, roomy, with a huge bed! And the best night's sleep in a long time. Breakfast was substantial and relaxed. Hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. Midday checkout meant no rush, and once parking was paid we could have as long as we liked to explore the city centre before picking up the car later. Really good value for money.

Odd humming sound which I think came from electricity generator near by. Showers in spa area cold or not operating and no info about this. Showers in rooms excellent.

Took us four attempts before we found a suitable room. Rooms at the back overlooking Rock City Nightclub, two of the front rooms were smelly. Bathrooms could do with modernising. That said the reception staff were very helpful and apologetic.

Good location in heart of the city. Great customer service, bar and Leisure centre excellent.

Getting past the car park barriers was a bit hit and miss every time you needed to pop out. The first card we had didn't work, resulting in me having an embarrassing situation with the driver behind and the hassle of parking back up and going into reception to get the situation rectified. The fire alarm also went off while we were using the pool and spa facilities with young children. The staff were proficient in getting everybody out of the building and did all the could to accommodate us, but it was a false alarm and standing out in the cold for 20 mins in cold, wet weather and when the kids had no shoes or much clothing on was not ideal.

Spacious rooms, excellent choice at breakfast and staff super helpful and friendly. Gemma on Reception in particular stood out in this regard.

Stayed here for New Years Eve to visit my son in Nottingham, hotel is perfectly situated, easy to park and access. Room was perfect. Staff were so lovely, Omar and his team in the bar made our New Years Eve it was such a fun night.

Unfortunately during our stay there was a fire alarm so we were evacuated. This interrupted our stay but it was handled quickly and efficiently and we were welcomed into the casino across the road out of the cold until we could go back into the hotel.

The hotel is beautiful. The bar area is very impressive with a good choice of drinks. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The bed was really comfy and the room was quiet. It was a lovely night away. I didn't go into the spa but I did have a lovely facial and the spa staff were also very friendly.

We stay in hotels every year at Christmas for my sons birthday, we’ve stayed in quite a few now, I always email ahead to ask if balloons or banners could be put in the room for when we arrive. Every hotel we’ve stayed in previously have managed this request, although it’s never guaranteed, unfortunately this was the first time it didn’t happen, again, they did say this wasn’t guaranteed. On arrival we were give a sheet with info on, which stated breakfast ordered the day before would be discounted, when we tried to order the day before, we were told this wasn’t possible. So decided to just order the children breakfast on the morning as they were so expensive, £17.95 for adult, and £9.95 for child, when we went to order we were told they do not do a kids breakfast, so paid for two adults and asked for them to be bought to the room, we were charged £6.50 per breakfast to be bought to the room, although upon checking the info sheet it stated they did do child’s breakfast at 9.95 and a tray charge was £5, we did comment on this upon leaving and were given free parking ( which is £16). other than this it was lovely, just other places we’ve stayed have been better value, and staff have been more personal
