Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

South AfricaHouse keeping. Firstly they reek of sweat. Very very bad. How can you clean if you leave the entire hallway and room reeking in sweat. Some rooms had gowns and slippers and some not. The cleaning team did not replenish all the complimentary gel etc.
Location was perfect. The front of house is good and the porters all give it a lovely old school hotel. Loved it! The free bottle of wine was highly appreciated.

Super hotel, incredibly helpful staff from the doorman in top hat to the bellhops/concierge to the check in desk and the room service - all highly friendly and very professional. Made a Radisson member immediately Fantastic room - huge and very well appointed - we were upgraded as well to include a sitting room plus kitchen, sink and microwave. Amazing views over Waterloo Station and the city including the Shard Great Illy cafe downstairs serving quality coffee and croissants so that breakfast not needed. You can walk to Covent Garden or Jermyn Street / St James' in less than 30 minutes so location is incredible - perfect for shopping / eating out / the opera (all of which we did!) Great value too. A godsend after the dreadful hotel we had been in the night before. This will now be our go to hotel in London

United KingdomThe digital key could be better. May have the option to add to Apple wallet rather going through the app. Found it a bit of a pain when using the lifts to the room.
Online check in and out was simple and straightforward. Room was lovely and bed very comfy.

United KingdomThere was a fire drill at 7:30 on bank holiday Monday. We know this cannot be helped but staff were useless. The fire exit stair way was clogged up and not moving. A staff member was pushing through everyone and not even telling us what was going on. We got outside after 25 minutes and pretty much all staff were safely outside! We were trying to call reception to see if this was a drill but they were already outside. Just a joke and really needs to be looked at, or this would be very dangerous had it been a real fire.
It was in a good location.

EgyptJust one thing happened during our stay which about fire alarm and internal announcement to evacuate the building immediately, we all moved in the same time to the stairs but unfortunately we stacked at the stairs without moving due to very bad evacuation plan/facilities and it was a very risky situation and so dangerous than to stay in our rooms.

AustraliaRoom wasn’t as clean as it could have been. We chose to only have it cleaned once during our stay however think all they did was change towels. There were crumbs on floor that didn’t get vacuumed and washing of dishes was pretty average

United KingdomI rang twice and was told twice they have disabled parking spots. It turns out they don’t and I was charged £65 to park my own car, which I had to squeeze in between tight spots on the pavement. No consideration towards people with needs and weren’t informed of the charges until parked up and didn’t have a choice

United StatesThe maids told us they were too busy to clean our room in a timely manner (it was 3 pm!) because they were so many VIPs they had to get to first. And getting bottles of water was like pulling teeth! We even offered to pay for them, but apparently since we’d gotten two free bottles of water at check-in (they made a huge deal about that, too, like we should be so grateful) it was problematic. These two incidences left a bad taste.

GermanyThe breakfast was really not to our taste- but I suppose that may be individual. However we felt disappointed, especially for this money and especially given that it is a chain and we had been to other Hotels of the same type and had much better experiences. Also the fact that u had to prebook a 30min slot for the pool (although it was basically empty the whole day) was ridiculous.
The location was wonderful.
