Breakfast was poor. For 15 quid each - cold poached egg, over cooked black pudding, cold bacon. The sausage was ok, but only 1. Didn't get offered another round of toast. Continental options are not great, supermarket frozen mixed berries (albeit had been defrosted), apples cut up that were brown and uninviting.

The staff were fantastic, every single one that we came into contact with was friendly and polite. The room was beautiful, spacious and clean. Everything we had hoped it would be.

The spa reception was unmanned when I arrived for my treatment & whilst I was waiting a further 3 people turned up for treatments. Maybe ensure there is someone available to watch the area if you know appointments are due in.

Staff were friendly in the restaurant & at reception. Food was excellent at both dinner & breakfast. I had an eyebrow shape at the spa & the price was very reasonable.

I was happy with my stay, there wasn't anything I didn't enjoy about it.

This was a short business trip so, because of work commitments, I was unable to appreciate the full extent of the facilities. However, I found the hotel to be of a very high quality, comfortable, clean and the staff were really helpful and pleasant.

Being only 15 mins from Chester City centre but felt miles away from anywhere. Set in beautiful grounds this hotel is so peaceful. Lovely walled garden and nice areas to sit & enjoy a drink outside. Our room had a balcony with a gorgeous view of the garden and felt like a mini holiday. The pool area opens at 7am, so perfect to use first before heading out for the day. The food is excellent as was the service.

I think when you come for a bed and breakfast, all breakfasts should be included. We were at another property in Wrexham, a small Pub with rooms and they allowed an unlimited choice and quantity. A high end resort as yours could follow suit. A suggestion.

Parts of the hotel were obvioulsy under refurbishment or due to be so loooked a little tired, with wallpaper peeling off and parts freshly painted and others not.

Rooms were superb and facilities for the family, pool etc., were excellent. The staff at dinner were brilliant, very attentive to the needs of a family of 5 (with 3 kids under 10!)

The breakfast menu had changed abit and even though we paid in advance for breakfast there was a supplement to pay if you wanted a full English and other choices! Abit disappointing as last year there was no extra to pay! Probably will book room only next time!! One lamp at the side of the bed in our room wasnt working! We swapped the bulbs around and it was fine! We forgot to tell reception when we checked out! Room 209

Love the hotel and the location being a stone's throw away from Chester! We love the charm of the hotel with the dark wood walls and old fashioned features! Our room was clean and adequate and in fact was the same room we had last year which was abit weird! Enjoyed the spa steam room and sauna jacuzzi and pool area! We went there early evening before we out for dinner into Chester! It wasnt too busy which was great! We were going to go in the morning after checking out but it was really busy! We stayed Saturday to Sunday just one night at the end of January 2024!

The bedroom had no heating and a portable heater was provided whilst awaiting heating to be addressed however this didn’t happen I have cops and eventually was moved to a room on 2nd floor this was early evening x we were not in Federer any competition for this and consequently my asthma/copd worsened preventing me from using pool in morning

The food is excellent but basic. The breakfast is sparse and disappointing. I made my thoughts clear - especially as there was a £5 premium added to a full English Breakfast that was only 1 sausage, 1 rasher of bacon.

The spa is perfect. Warm water, comfortable loungers. The spa staff are really helpful and friendly.
