Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur room did not correspond AT ALL to picture on booking.com. Smaller. Window was at the bottom of a 2 m x 2 m shaft; no daylight ! Bed was double, not queen size, but comfortable.
Very good location: - 15 mn (on foot) from Paddington Station direct to Heathrow by Elizabeth Line, - 3 lines of metro reachable around the corner, - many busses. Convenient lockers for luggage if arriving early (like via overnight flight from USA). Very nice Costa coffee house on ground floor.

BelgiumOur window looked out on another window of another room and there wasn't really daylight coming in. On the 1st and second floor you could hear a lot of noice from the cafe downstairs. We slept on the 4th but I think it’s not nice to sleep on the 1st floor.
The bathroom was the best part of the room! The bed was also good but not that big. We slept on the 4th floor and didn’t hear any noice. The staff was also really nice! The room is also with a code instead of a card.

BulgariaThere was an ongoing renovation on first and second floor that was not mentioned. Because of that, it was a bit difficult finding the place, since the Costa cafe mentioned in the description how to reach the place and get in, is not functioning at the moment and there is no sign of it. Also affected the stay in the hotel. The room they had for us for 7 days stay was without day light access, so it was unpleasant surprise. Also was on the floor where renovations took place. But stuff was helpful and changed the room.
At first there was an issue with the room, because we got a room without day light, but stuff was helpful and changed the room. The second room was great. Location is very good, easy access to public transport and 10 min. walk to Hyde Park .

United KingdomI was really disappointed in the communal area between the reception and the left. There was a Costa Coffee that used to be there. This was being renovated and the workmen were tools different levels of Flooring and there was no advice of this when booking the room was very disappointing as it was clearly a health and safety risk.
I like the location as it was right where I needed to be for work

United StatesA bit noisy between rooms. Bathroom was small, shower faucet not very comfy. Mattress was not great but we managed. They never came and cleaned the room during the 6-day stay. I would have expected so at least once.
Good location. Room was small but cozy. Nice design.

Malta- Narrow window overlooking shaft, which made the room very dark. - Upon arrival we were informed that the lift was not working. We were in the fifth floor and there were no other rooms available at a lower level. Lift was not working throughout the entire stay and it seems that it will remain that way for a while as the lower floors are undergoing a refurbishment.
- Modern, clean room with kettle and mini fridge. - Location good, being close to an underground station and surrounded by many supermarkets, shops, bars, restaurants, cafeterias etc.

United StatesThe room was so small. I don’t think two suitcases Could fit open so better for one person or a couple with one suitcase. Room had no natural light either.
Location was central. Room was very clean and quite quiet. Not a lot of variety in the eating places around. Mostly middle eastern. Easy to check in and out.

SpainThere was not room service except if you asked for it explicitely, which for the price of the room is a bit below the service I expected. There was not kitchen services.
It was a clean hotel and room. Very comfortable matress, nice and very clean bathroom, though small one. The shower was new and water pressure correct. There was a kettle, small fridge, and iron in the room. The temperature was air conditioning controlled (comfy, but dry). The situation is correct for travelers, well connected with Metro and near Paddington.

SwitzerlandAlthough the room was adequate, there was little room for any large luggage/baggage and no real space to store clothing. There was an alcove within the room which would have been a perfect spot, and size, where shelves and hooks could have been installed to allow for a suitcase to be placed, the room's mini-bar fridge to be incorporated along with the safe and ironing board. Space would definitely have been gained. The cleanliness was good except for noticeable stains on the carpet.
The hotel was well situated, within walking distance of both Edgware Road tube stations and Paddington station. Numerous bars, cafés and restaurants are also close-by, offering a large selection of various cuisines. Checking in was facilitated by the online option and the room was comfortable with a large bed and spacious bathroom. The bathroom itself was clean and soap & shampoo supplies were generous.

CanadaWe spent 6 nights and there was no cleaning, there was an extra fee for that. Maybe I misread the email but I thought that there was going to be cleaning after three days. I've stayed in cheaper places where a general cleaning was done everyday. Also, if you want supplies like toilet paper, toiletries, or a change of towels you'd have to get them yourself at the supply cabinet in the lobby. I don't recall this being explained beforehand.
The location was good, I liked that there was a kettle with tea bags, coffee, milk, sugar, cups, and spoons. The fridge was a plus. The towels were big, the shower had very good water pressure.
