How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

You have to drive through the old town through the narrow streets and people. Not a problem just something to be aware of. The rooms are smaller, simple but very clean and had everything needed.
The location was excellent and very easy walking distance to all of the sights, food and entertainment. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very good. If you are staying in this area this is a nice option.

The location was especially perfect, on the more quiet side of the top with plenty of parks around and access to the lake on all sides; nothing more than a two minute walk away.

Getting there by car can be challenging since it requires navigating the narrow streets full of people. Check-in is done in a separate hotel (Continental) and no parking was available in Villa Maria -- we had to leave the car keys with Continental's staff and have it parked there instead.
Clean and well-equipped/ furnished room. Good and varied breakfast, with options to eat inside or outside. Vending machine with drinks in the lobby area for the night owls. Great (and quiet) location! You're a few minutes walk from the city center and tourism destinations (ruins, castle, beaches), perfect for those who enjoy a sightseeing walk.

We had a room with Lake view. Great view. Location is amazing, a few minutes to the Jamaica beach and the Old town. We had a great time visiting Sirmione and staying at Villa Maria.

No vegetable for breakfast - no vegan options ( I cannot eat dairy), in general poor breakfast Parking space next to the hotel was full - at least we could park at continental hotel's parking lot for free Room was very small and the bathroom even smaller, I cannot imagine people who are not thin going to the shower

No staff available at the hotel, needed to check in at another hotel down the road. Room is very very basic, no coffee machine or water kettle, ants in the bathroom.
The location in The historical center of Sirmione is perfect.

The room was quite small, the bathroom too. It was a challenge to use.
Sirmione is a beautiful historic town, and the view is immaculate. The hotel is located at the upper most north side, so it's a short walk to the shore.

Breakfast was average and also not great checking in at another hotel. Was a bit surprised they didn’t have even a bottle of cold water in the room when we got there and also at check in they were confused about the number of people we had making me feel like I’ve booked the wrong rooms. Got charged 4 days for parking but got there at 9pm first night and left at 10am on our last day Had 3 days is Sirmione but I guess they somehow work 4 nights as 4 days…
Very clean and met some really nice people cleaning our rooms They did an amazing job!

The room is on the first floor and the ground floor is parking place sometime is noisy. Booking the room has balcony but i got the room has no balcony and below the room is parking place

The shower cabin was very narrow and small. There is no staff in the facility if needed. When there is a demand or problem, you go to another hotel in the provinces and this is ridiculous. Parking spaces are very narrow, you cannot park SUVs and you cannot always find a parking space. Those who will stay in Sirmione should definitely not stay in the pedesterian area, it is impossible to pass through the human traffic by car. In general, the hotel is okay, but I wouldn't recommend it.
