How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Layout of the room - fine for one person but two people with large suitcases will be tight. My room was facing a busy cross road so there was a lot of traffic noise - unfortunately

There was nothing I had a problem with.
Have to choose to include breakfast when making the reservation, but it is well worth it. Breakfast is a variety of small dishes and freshly prepared. Staff is also very welcoming and helpful, rooms are small but comfortable.

Nothing - everything was spot on
This was my favourite hotel in my entire 3 week trip to Japan. The staff were so lovely and friendly and I loved the reception area which was great to work in with free coffee. My room was gorgeous with so many lovely touches. Free noodles after 8pm were a delight too. I LOVED it ! will come again for sure.

We had the family room which we used with 4 persons. It was a bit small, but very comfortable with an excellent bath room. The staff was super friendly and attentive. Location is about 5 minutes from the train station in a quiet area and it's very close to bus stops, but you can also walk to most of the popular places. If you plan to stay a few nights in Kanazawa, book your room here!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. They were able to make dinner reservations for us on a couple of nights. The place was very clean and there were lots of little extras like drinks and sweets.

Stylish, spotlessly clean hotel with a comfy bed and the best pyjamas (samue). Excellent location, easily walkable from the station and main sights. Hotel staff were warm, helpful, and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Amazing boutique hotel in central Kanazawa, a 10 minutes walk from the train station and a pleasant 20 min stroll from the main sightseeing sites. Rooms are spacious, stylish and extremely clean, the staff is super friendly and helpful. We enjoyed a lot the traditional breakfast and the complementary soba in the evening. Our favourite stay of our Japan trip!

Very nice new small hotel. The room was decent size with Japanese standards. Very nice design, a lot of light wood. Good location, walking distance to the station( if you can roll your bag), walking distance to the samurai district. Nice small restaurants around. The staff was very welcoming, they offer free udon in the evening, all drinks in the room are free including beer. They gave us a small goody bag with sweets at the checkout. We would definitely stay there again.

The room was on the small side, but so well designed it didn’t matter.
Charming boutique hotel with beautiful rooms, immaculately clean and well located. The staff were friendly and helpful and the small touches - the bath salts, free drinks and small gift on departure - made us feel really welcome. Highly recommended

A whole lot of nothing.
We absolutelly enjoyed our short stay at Kanazawa Zoushi! Receptiion staff was super nice and welcoming. We had free drinks in the room fridge and breakfast was very good. Location is also very convenient - a walking disctance from the train station and a couple of blocks from the Omicho Market. This place is trully a gem!

Outstanding value. The hotel is decorated stylishly with many added touches that went above and beyond the usual. They provided traditional clothes to wear, bathing suits salts, free delicious udon soup at night, unlimited coffee, tea, and assorted drinks 24/7. Delightful place to stay.

The location was a straightforward 10-minute walk from the main Kanazawa station (where the Shinkansen stops), and centrally located to walk easily to all of the places we wanted to visit in town. The hotel itself was gorgeous, the staff were all very kind, the shower, toilet, and bed were all top-tier, the Japanese breakfast was balanced, light, and delicious, and there were lots of free amenities. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again if I have the chance to return to Kanazawa!! 本当にありがとうございました〜

The staff was very helpful (we forgot items in the previous hotel and they organised the delivery per post for us). The common space in the lobby is not that big but well organised, practical (free hot and cold drinks, a big table and smaller ones) and cute. The rooms are comfortable, well decorated and calm.

The outdoor lobby area between reception and the lifts often smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke, not nice to have to walk through when coming and going
The welcome snack and drink were a nice touch. We had free drinks provided in the room and replenished daily. Very comfortable beds. Really nice bathroom, they let you choose your bath salts on check in. Staff were very friendly and the atmosphere in the reception area was always nice and lively. Free noodle meal at night ( we didn’t have as we ate out, but nice to know the option was available) Little thank you gift on check out was another nice touch. In our 3 week holiday, this was the best place we stayed. Easy walk to market and train station and good local shopping.
