How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content

- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It would be much better if hotel can provide luggage delivery service or assistance.
My rooms are equipped with laundry and small kitchen which are very convenient for tourists. Rooms are spacious and clean.

We were charged an extra 1000 yen for requesting an additional 1 hour late checkout. It was ok.
The location was great. Only 10 mins walk from the train station and walking distance to most tourist attractions. The room had a washing machine with facilities to hang the clothes dry. Bathrooms had all amenities and was squeaky clean

The facilities are very basic. It’s located in a quiet place but not as centered as wi thought. The parking we got wasn’t that close.

Room temperature but I had that problem everywhere in Japan. The hotel is also not in the centre of the town, probably 15-20 mins walk to the river.
The room was a lot bigger than what I was expecting, plus there was a sink and stovetop, and a washing machine. I remember liking the layout because the toilet was separate to the bathroom. There's also a 7/11 across the road and its about 10 minutes walk from the station.

Insufficient parking lots which are reserved very fast.
We stayed in the room which has 2 doubles and 2 single bunk beds - its beautifully designed. We know abit about furnishings and the room finishing is all top class, the rubbish bin alone is almost USD $300 and the bidet almost USD 800 .. haha. We like the foot lights, the heater in the bathroom/laundry room, the dehumidifier, the microwave etc - smallish but clean and comfortable. We had to park off site as the hotel parking lot is very small and fully reserved. Thats alright as the paraca parking lot is just 5 min walk away and is inexpensive. We are within walking distance of the old city, the morning markets and the stroll is very pleasant.

Location is within 10 mins walk from Takayama station. Opposite the hotel is a 7-Eleven which is so convenient for us especially on the day that it snowed. Room is big enough for 5 adults. The WC (toilet bowl) is in a separate room from the shower, which allows 2 people to use 2 facilities at the same time. We love the washing machine and the heating in the shower room helps to dry our clothes. The hotel is within walking distance to the old town which is on the East side of the train station.

The dryer of laundry was not so effective (not so important but don’t count on it)
Everything was so amazing and clean, really the best hotel in all of our stay in Japan. 10 minutes walking from mani train and bus station and 15 from the old city where everything is happening

We checked the check in time on booking.com beforehand and it said until midnight. When we arrived at 11pm it turned out the reception was already closed since 10pm. Check-in had to be done with a self check-in, but we didn’t receive the details to enter before we arrived. Eventually we managed by calling an emergency number, but this caused it to be a very stressful check in.
The rooms are very spacious and clean. They even have a kitchenette and washing machine :)

Limited space for baggages with 5 persons with 9 days total time in Japan,

No luggage delivery service sending to airport. Would be nice to offer this kind of assistance. Room can be cramped if many of you have big luggage. We were 5 in a room. Looking back, we should've booked 2 rooms instead. Beds were enough but luggage space was our issue. This is more on us though.
10 minute walk from JR Takayama Station and Nohi Bus Station. 7/11 right across the hotel. Modern family-style rooms. We were able to send our luggage to FAV from another hotel. We were able to buy groceries, keep them in the refrigerator, and cook at the hotel room.

Parking at the facility is limited at ¥1000 per day. However, there’s a nearby parking that charges ¥300 from 8:00pm to 10:00am, which is a bargain.
Spacious for Japanese standard. Fully equipped with facilities such as washer and bathroom dryer. The shower is separate from the bath tub, which is a plus point if you’re travelling with the elderly. They also provided a stool for you to use, just like in the Onsen. The kitchenette is well equipped, and there’s a table for two where you can have dinner comfortably. 7e is across the road, a clothing mall is just opposite the hotel. Food market (Boss Food Market) is nearby, and a huge Nitori is also nearby. Restaurants are aplenty. Cleanliness is top notch.

As it is a self check in counter service like luggage transport can only be accommodated from the 7-11 next door. Parking in the hotel is limited but can find some around

Location relatively far from main entrance/exit of the station. (Perhaps indicated which exit is closer) 10 oclock check out time is a bit rush.with no late check out possible unless paying. .
