Loved the property, from the moment you walk in, shoes off, kimono on, it felt traditional and a true step into Japanese culture. Staff were lovely, and the facilities were fantastic. The hotel was very easy to get to - via bus from Takayama and a short walk through the beautiful natural springs town, even saw some hikers soaking their feet in the local warm stream. A beautiful place, highly recommend. But stay at least two nights. One night isn’t enough.

The location is great, in the mountains above Takayama. The onsen is nice, and there are 4 private ones also. The food was fantastic. The staff is very attentive and speaks a little English.

Next time, we would come back with a car, because there were only one or two trails within walking distance of the hotel.

Such a beautiful and relaxing space. We loved all the free snacks and amenities. The private hot spring bath in our room was worth the extra money!

The only reason this place is not getting a 10 is the food. It was Japanese which was great to try, but breakfast and dinner, both days, was very similar. It would've been nice to have a change from rice, fish and miso. It is a true Japanese experience, which was great, but we've been in Japan for a few weeks now and would've liked a greater variety of options

We got the room with the private onsen. The room was perfect, spacious and clean. Onsen only big enough for one person (just). The private outdoor onsen which anyone can use (if no one else is), was fantastic and the highlight of the visit

We choose to stay in this resort to enjoy the weather and also to have a better rest after Kamikochi trip and it didn't let us down! There are 2 public Onsen, 2 private indoor Onsen and 2 private outdoor Onsen for you to enjoy without the need to book, can just go in if nobody else is using for private Onsen. the breakfast and dinner provided also is delicious, they even make special arrangement for my friend as she is not able to eat beef. Free drink, snack, ice cream, supper is provided at specific time, there are lift to use if you travel with luggage.

I missed out on the ramen because it was only. Between 10:30pm to 11pm :(

Hotel staffs were really nice and helpful, the hotel was very clean and nice, and the onsen was amazing! We had our own private onsen in our room but we also tried the private outdoor as well and both were amazing. Breakfast and dinner were amazing as well. We love the free coffee, beer, tofu and ice creams. Would totally visit again!

Bit disappointed at the quality of the food at the evening dinner

The resort offered varied extras such as sake tasting, a fire pit, and of course extensive public and private baths. Also very quiet and comfortable rooms

A little more flexibility with timing of dinner (although it was golden week, so very busy).

We had a wonderful night here. Really special and memorable. The evening meal and breakfast were also brilliant. Free beer and sake were a nice touch.

There was nothing we disliked, it was a lovely experience. The rooms were a bit dated but that added to the overall charm.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location was nice, we had a hire car but only a short walk to the bus terminal for a trip to Kamikochi. Shops and little village walking distance. We had a room with own hot tub which was lovely but the hotel had 2 private and a public onsen too which were all good. Very traditional rooms with mattresses on floor, comfy enough. Liked the Sumae or yakata and slippers which were provided and all guests wore around the hotel and to dinner etc. Complimentary beer, coffee, sake were all lovely. Dinners were amazing. Breakfast was a bit unusual for us but we tried most of the dishes.

The only issue was the smell of the smoking room could travel up to the guest floors so this was a bit distracting. But understand this is the layout of the hotel.

The dinner and breakfast was amazing, as was the private onsen. Staff were wonderful and friendly too.

Really amazing food and onsen. Amazing room. So many freebies. Beautiful baths. Staff doesn't speak much English but super friendly and helpful. Amazing stay and facilities. A lovely Ryokan! A MUST DO!
