How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The lighting was nice but hard to figure out the controls - they were mostly on the headboard of the bed. The breakfast was delicious with great variety, but sold-out on our first day.
Really appreciated the helpful front desk and enjoyed the superb atmosphere of the hotel - the decor of the hotel and rooms was sleek and simple, with a lovely, ultra-modern design. Large common space in the lobby made it easy to meet and talk with friends and companions. Also enjoyed the night-time noodles, and convenient free coffee, tea, water and orange juice in the lobby. Location was excellent - close to everything we wanted to see and do.

The rooms were beautifully designed and the furnishings were luxurious. The staff were professional and very pleasant, the location was good for visiting the castle and gardens.

The space between the two outer doors is a waste- it would be better if that was actually in the room. It was all a bit crowded down in that entry way with our shoes, our suitcases, and trying to get in and out.
Very friendly polite and helpful staff. Having beer and sale to purchase in the foyer. Having art work displayed and available. Very nice aesthetics/ decor in the room. Location was perfect.

Location was ideal for exploring Kanazawa attractions, walking distance to most destinations. Room was quiet, clean, and comfortable. Staff was quite helpful and solicitous. The tiny rock garden by the window in the room was an unexpected touch.

Can’t open the windows, not even crack them open, in the rooms.
The room was very nice with plenty of space. The free tea/water/juice/coffee in the lounge is very nice and appreciated. Bikes are for rental, which is a nice touch. Located very close to Omicho market and this was a huge plus.

Beautifully and tastefully designed, extremely spacious, convenient and comfortable (be sure to reserve the rooms with balcony), sparkling clean. Great location, every attraction is within walkable distance. With its free tea, coffee, juice offered 24 hours, you can literally use its lobby as a cafe to take a break during your sightseeing and shopping.

Location is excellent (walking distance to Kanazawa Castle). The hotel also provide free bicycle rental which is probably the best way to explore the city. There is also free soba for supper 😋

Nothing negative as it was a very nice place
A very nice place to stay and you are perfectly located at the most perfect gardens in Japan. The room was comfy, self serve laundry available and a full compliment of lotions and soaps available in your room. Sake tasting at night and just a great stay.

Everything was good. My minor suggestion would be some variation in the Japanese breakfast from morning to morning, even just adding different pickles and more pickles. Or different fish.
They went above and beyond. My husband lost his wallet in the cab and they called the lost and found and arranged for the cab company to bring it back.
