I love the feel of this old building. It’s what I would expect a hotel this age to look and feel like. The decor is warm and quiet and welcoming. It’s kind of a maze, but that is part of the charm. The location is right in the heart of the city and surrounded by lovely buildings. I adore the breakfast staff!

Shower was good although bath took a while to fill.
Staff were very accommodating for our problems as we had a few mishaps with key cards on our behalf.

Beautiful location, lovely house, comfortable rooms & superb breakfast. This place is a real gem & easily walkable to the sites and city center. The staff is also lovely, attentive & kind - my friend left something behind & they graciously posted it to us in Edinburgh. A must stay!!

Clean comfortable and friendly. The staff made us feel completely welcome. Excellently crafted cocktails and very delicious food. We arrived and saw no need to leave to go anywhere else for the evening. After dinner, while our traveling companions went to bed, my husband and I stayed in the bar and felt quite at home playing a game.

Historic and lovely, and interesting variety rooms and design. The Alloway Suite was very pretty, spacious and comfortable with two small sofas.
We liked having two separate sinks. The shower was lovely.
