Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTV reception poor - picture kept breaking up. Safe parking facilities were limited - I got lucky this time. Didn't have breakfast as prices were too high.
Smoothe booking in. Room was exactly what I expected. Hotel in quiet area but just off lively location to explore. Also only a short walk (Less than 15min) to city centre

United KingdomWe were a bit disappointed in the breakfast . It cost £18 and really was not worth that amount. It would have been better if the Coffee had been in a Cafetiere and frankly the staff had been more attentive .
The Hotel was very well situated. We had a warm welcome from the Manager Miguel . The Room was confortable and there was a nice touch to be offered a glass of Bristol Cream Sherry . We were able to leave the car in the secure garage and for our 3 day stay we used the local buses .

United KingdomMy room was quite shabby (and I know it’s going through refurbishment) - carpet down to the canvas in patches, timing in bathroom cracked, bathroom light switch difficult to use and slipping back into casing, paint on doors worn, difficult to see where to put the key as corridor was dark.
Brilliant location, lovely helpful friendly staff and the downstairs bar and restaurant were lovely both to eat and hang out. Lots of lovely touches on the room.

United KingdomUnfortunately both nights were very noisy. I totally understand that I stayed over a weekend, in a city with a vibrant nightlife and accept this. I also appreciated the room change to one higher up, but perhaps a future investment in double glazing might help?
Lovely hotel with cosy room and welcoming staff. I appreciated being contacted by the hotel in advance of my stay to notify me of an event and offer me an alternative room higher up in the property.

United KingdomThe wedding that went on relentlessly was not mentioned when I was forced to book at short notice, after dental surgery. I mentioned this to the front desk in fact. The previous evening we had stayed in a more 'chain' type hotel, the Clayton, and were happy to move from city centre to(we assumed) a comparatively quieter location. ON ARRIVAL we were told we could not use the bar. On arrival we were told we could not use the dining room. I wonder why the staff thought these circumstances weren't worth mentioning. I couldn't walk far so room service was the next option. The food wasnt memorable. Other than a bed being the only place to fit the enormous plates that came. This enormous tray full of detritus remained in the room until half way through the night, on my third visit up the stairs to try to get what we needed. They were totally preoccupied with the wedding, the fact that I only saw one of the two people there move at all in a 12 HR stay.. I wouldn't have bothered them at all and was extremely tempted, after 6 hrs sharing the cramped space with an unwelcome messy, and, quite frankly, flat guest, to eject said tray right outside the door. But I have a little respect for your guests.. Berlin,or we're we in Berlin, I forget, would not have expected it, and would definitely not like to trip over it as they left their room. They had a late night, 3am . One gentlemen relieved himself, I know this at our rooms windows overlooked the smoking alley that was good and raucous till the early hours. At this point I was becoming conscious of ruining our stay by pointing out a little thing like that. The room was stylish and unique. Sumptuous bed covers, amazing sleep, eventually.. I'm 5'11", he's 6'3". The tiny bath looked sweet and bijou but more of a footbath when one actually tangled with the prospect.
Everything to an extent. Nothing that a deep clean wouldn't fix

United KingdomI arrived before 3pm and no problem that my room wasn’t ready and only waiting 10 mins for it. When I got in the room I thought I’d have a little nap but the drilling in the room next door started. I understand that work needed to be done so I left it but I asked the staff that I didn’t like the idea of being woken up by that in the morning as I’m here to relax and as check in was 11 I didn’t expect it before 10 they said they understood but at 8.30 the drilling started. Just a suggestion but don’t put people in the room next to ones that are being renovated. the noise actually made us leave the room early than planned 🙁
It was perfect for what we needed as wali in h distance to the venue we were attending. It was clean and comfortable and I liked the little touches of the complimentary port, fruit and teas etc
