  • Craig Manor Review score: 10

“All staff in the hotel were lovely, polite, helpful and thoughtful. The anniversary touches in the room, a card, a chocolate anniversary gift & a dessert were lovely. Gorgeous biscuits in the room with a good selection of teas, coffees hot chocolate etc. Lovely modern bathroom. Comfortable bed and pillows. Good choice at breakfast. Exceptionally clean in all areas. Beautiful elevated glass terraced area at the rear of the hotel where you could have snacks, drinks, coffee, etc, which had a lovely view of lake Windermere in the distance. Parking at front and rear of hotel”

  • The Coledale Inn Review score: 9

“The location is stunning. You can park up and have a drink/lunch in the garden before check-in if you like, or head up into the hills if you like a good walk. Alternatively, the village is quaint and you can wander along the beck with an ice cream. We enjoyed the evening too, eating in the restaurant. Our dog was also made welcome. The staff are extremely helpful and friendly and attentive. The bedroom was small but adequate and peaceful with a nice shower and pretty view over the hills behind the hotel. The bedding was good quality and the bed and pillows nice and comfy. The cooked breakfast was lovely!”

“Absolutely 💯 retreat. Quiet place close to nature. The best was that we were the only guests. The area is gated, so we didn't have to worry about the dog”

  • Royal Oak Review score: 10

“The village was just lovely, we had an early evening walk and then sat outside the Royal Oak with a lovely beer, Rev James. Our meal inside was delicious, we both had beef and ale pie. We chatted to some other people, the pub is such that it encourages this, typical of an English pub. Our room was very comfortable, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the staff were so pleasant.”
